So.... It's been a while....actually over a month since i've last posted a blog. This last month has kind of been hectic in that i was juggling the admissions job and rehearsals, around vacation time in California. California was great and getting to see the family was great as well. Here are a couple pictures of the wedding and the family.

When I came home from California, I hit the ground running due to only having three dress rehearsals before our performance of All My Sons at the Putnam County Playhouse. It was a really great experience working with such a talented crew. Two of which were professors at DePauw. Larry Sutton, the lead of the play, had worked at DePauw for over thirty years before he had retired in 2003 and Caroline Good, who still teaches at DePauw, (and was my Acting II professor my sophomore year) both had outstanding performances.

Here are some of the pictures I took around campus. Hope you guys enjoy!

Putting my foot in the Door

Being in the admissions office has it's perks. From trolleys tours to stuffing letter there's always something that pops up on our task board that needs to be done around the office. Today, I had the privilege to sit in and observe an interview with a student looking to attend DePauw University. It was a great experience which hopefully I can look back on soon to help me when I am interviewing someone. Tomorrow should be pretty fun as well, we have a new person interviewing for an Admission Officer position we have open. Me and the other interns will be having lunch with the new candidate so we can get to know them as well as see how they react to students around our age.

Moreover, I'm just counting the days until I fly out to California to the wedding.....blah blah blah.

Alumni Weekend

Last week at DePauw we host all 5th, 10th, 15th......and 50th reunions of alumni during alumni weekend. This is a pretty busy week for the tour guides. On top of giving tours to prospective students and their parents, we also gave tours of DePauw's history while riding a trolley around the campus. At first I was a little nervous getting up in front of 30 people and talking from a script. However, the more you do it, the more comfortable you feel about it. Toward the final days of the tour, I found myself receiving tips from the alumni--an unexpected but sweet gift. Overall, the whole experience was fun while it lasted but at the same time I was ready for it to be over...

This week, I am given the privilege to sit in on an interview regarding a new Officer position in our office. This will be a great experience for me in that I'll finally view an interview from the employer's perspective. Can't wait for that.

In other news, I am attending a wedding in California that is coming up in less than two weeks. I can't wait to get home for a week and see the family. After about a week though, I should be ready to come back to school and hang out with my buddy's on campus.

until later...
